What is Gather Your Party?

Gather Your Party is a single-player journalling game which uses playing cards to generate details, and dice to add the element of chance to overcoming challenges. You control a party of four heroes, whose histories and skills can be drawn randomly, as they delve into The Dungeon to kill monsters, overcome challenges, and amass great wealth.

Can I play this with Friends?

Probably! While I have not included rules for it, I have thought deeply about multiplayer rules for Gather Your Party. If you can come up with some, go for it - I will be adding them as part of the final edition.

Why is this a prototype?

For all intents and purposes, Gather Your Party is a complete game. But it is missing illustrations, some more nuanced rules, and possibly even more detailed encounters. I created this as part of #DnDecember back in 2021, using prompts from Twitter. At the time I planned on returning and adding illustrations, refining the rules, and changing some other aspects of play. I still hope to, but working on anything has been difficult for the past two years.

If you buy it in this stage, you get two things: first, you have the opportunity to help me shape this game by letting me know what you think about encounters, skills and heroes; second, you get the fully completed version with illustrations and extras (if and when it happens) as a free update to this one.
